How to build a Fixed Gear Bike

Reminder: Fixed gear  bikes  are  bikes  that has  no brakes and have a single speed gear.

For  you to begin  with  you need  to have  the necessary parts:

  • handle bar
  • seatpost
  • Saddle
  • headset
  • bar tape
  • stem
  • fork
  • wheelset
  • frame
  • cranks
  • chainring
  • bike lube
  • bottom bracket
  • pedals
  • front brakes (optional)
  • spacers
  • chain
  1. The  first   step  is  for  you  to put  your main frame  in a bicycle stand. and  you must  need  to  make sure  that  the stand has a firm grip to  the frame.
  2.  You must need to measure the  height of  your fork's steerer tube  for  you to be able  to check  if  its  properly  aligned and  elevated.
  3. Cut the steerer tube enough  to fit  your handle bar, your stem and spacers.
  4. Make sure that  once you  placed  the  parts  it should be in  order. Which means  you must need  to place the headset bearings inside the steerer tube put some bike lube to it. Attach it to the mount of the frame. Put  the spacers and the stem and have it  locked using  an allen range.
  5. put the handle bar make sure that it is aligned  to your bike fork and then  put the bar tape afterwards.
  6. The next  thing  that you must need to do  is  to set  up  your  crankset which is  composed  of  your chain ring, cranks and bottom bracket. before  you  put the  bottom bracket   at  the bottom  of the  seat tube  you must need to  put  bike lube and sealed  it  using the bottom bracket  tool. place the chain ring together with the cranks.
  7. place  the the  wheelset  on the  fork as well as the rear  of bike. You will be using wrench  to  locked  the  the wheels to  your frame. Make sure that  it is properly aligned along with your seat tube and enough  space as well  for  you to place the chain.
  8. Before  placing the chain put a bike  lube again  on  the chain rings teeth as well as the  chains itself.
  9. Lastly  attach the pedals to  the cranks, attach the  the seatpost to the top of the seat tube and place the the saddle

I highly recommend  for beginners  please  do  install a front  brake first if  you don't know how  to  skid ( back pedalling for  the bike to stop.) Fixed gear bikes will help  you  lose weight since  it  doesn't allow you  to coast  during the ride and  it will strengthen your lower body  muscles.
